And... I went a third time!

Yup that's right, yesterday @ 4 I was in the locker area getting my shelf ready for a 2hour workout!

Started with 15 minutes cardio, then almost 1h30 of all the various machines to complete my time back on the treadmill for 10 minutes.

Went back home feeling a tad sore, but upper body really warm and I felt I worked more on that area. But Katie reassured me that all is good as I also did the rest of all my other dear muscles!

Going back Sunday - not sure what time, but that's the following day I have free!

A second visit

Yesterday 4h30 was my second visit to the gym.

Katie coach me on my Strength training for about an hour and a half. She was going from Mell to me adapting our routine. Today my Upper Back, Pectorals & Deltoids are hurting. (I had to google the anatomy of the muscular system to make sure I was saying the good ones!) Both using my own weight and the machines to do my series of repetitions. After that 10 minutes of cardio at a higher speed and incline.

Then it was restorative yoga.... hanging from the ceiling in the silk cocoon beds/raps. I was not successful with most of the poses, however it was a great relaxing hour and at least I tried. I think I would like to have one of those to sleep in, they are really amazing!

Next visit is Wednesday.

I must say that going as a group even if we not do all the same thing makes the hole difference. A colleague from work was also there and we talk of setting up some time together too, so that's great for me, another source of positive vibes to help me achieve my goals!

Friday September 23rd 2011

This date marks my first time at the gym.

10 minutes on the treadmill, ¼ of a mile on the elliptical, 1 hour class (mix of dance & aerobics) Was not able to do all the exercises that were offered in the class but didn't stop moving and finished it off in the pool 5 laps and 10 minutes of water resistance weights.
Felt good and sweat is my new friend!

Today we are going back again (Mellisa, Katie, Tanya & me) will be getting a 2 weeks plan/routine from Katie to set some goals and to know better what I need to do.

Will need to see if their is a good class to take this week!

Membership

Today is the day!














Back in June, my dear friend Katie posted a series of images to mark her half marathon that she was going to do last weekend. From the series of images this one stuck a cord with me. I printed a bunch of them, left them here and there, gave them to some friends at work….

Yesterday, was finally my day…. The day that no one can force on you, the day that I made my decision… A decision to really take care of me. To live life better and to become healthy. To live life as long as I can. I was putting it off for so long, even if all my dearest friends were trying to push me towards taking the leap and “jump on the hayride”… I wasn’t ready and there yet. Life sometimes throw you a curve ball and this is the time for me to tackle it and hit my home-run!

Over 10 years ago, I moved to Ottawa. I remember the outfit for my interview…. Size 16…. Boy am I so far from that today. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I will dig to achieve my goals and be able to wear that fabulous outfit once again (even if it’s maybe not in style anymore…. but it’s my goal).

My mom has also a dream for spring 2014 for her 65th to do a race together. We didn’t talk yet about distances and all but that’s also a goal.

And.... to get whatever pants I wish to get... in whatever style!

To my dearest supporters, friends and cheerleaders – A big thank you for your patience and for always pushing me to get healthier.
